[EUS] ARIMA SOUL: Lidia Insaustik (ahotsa) eta Mikel Makalak (baxua) sortutako Soul musika proiektu berria dugu, geroago Paul San Martin (teklatuak) eta Hilario Rodeiro (bateria) gehitu zirelarik. 70eko hamarkadako Rhythm & Blues, Soul, Funk, Groove eta Jazz taldeen eragin argiarekin, baina baita estilo horietako korronte garaikideenari begira ere, hau da Neo-Soul izenekoa. Zuzenekoetan, euskaraz abestutako abesti propioak jotzeaz gain, estiloaren zenbait adierazleren bertsioak interpretatzen dituzte: Bill Withers, Etta James, Curtis Mayfield, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Marie “Queenie” Lyons, … 2020ko udan Fredi Pelaezen Pottoko estudioan 5 kantu orijinalez osoturiko EP bat grabatu dute. 2021 urtearean hasieran, Madrilgo “Premios Enlace Funk 2020” sarietan “Talde Berri Onena” sailean finalistak dira.

[ESP] ARIMA SOUL: es el nuevo proyecto de música Soul (“Arima” en euskera) creado inicialmente por Lidia Insausti (voz) y Mikel Makala (bajo), incorporándose más tarde Paul San Martin (teclados) e Hilario Rodeiro (batería). Con clara influencia del Rhythm & Blues, Soul, Funk, Groove y Jazz de los 70’s, pero también con una mirada puesta en la corriente más contemporánea de estos estilos, como es el Neo-Soul. En los directos, además de tocar temas propios cantados en euskera, interpretan versiones de algunos exponentes del género como son Bill Withers, Etta James, Curtis Mayfield, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Marie “Queenie” Lyons,… En el verano del 2020 han grabado un EP con 5 temas originales propios en el estudio Pottoko de Fredi Peláez. A comienzos del 2021, son nominados como finalistas en el apartado de “Mejor Nuevo Grupo” de los “Premios Enlace Funk 2020” de Madrid.

[ENG] ARIMA SOUL: (“Arima” means “Soul” in Basque language) is a new musical project initially created by Lidia Insausti (vocals) and Mikel Makala (bass), later joining Paul San Martin (keyboards) and Hilario Rodeiro (drums). With a clear influence of Rhythm & Blues, Soul, Funk, Groove and Jazz of the 70’s, but also with an eye on contemporary Neo-Soul style. In their live shows, in addition to playing their own songs sung in Basque, they perform covers of some exponents of the genre such as Bill Withers, Etta James, Curtis Mayfield, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Marie “Queenie” Lyons,… In the summer of 2020 they´ve recorded an EP with 5 original songs at the Fredi Peláez’s Pottoko studio. At the beginning of 2021, they've been nominated as “Best New Group” in the “Enlace Funk 2020 Awards” in Madrid.
